Gaeta, December 2, 2023 – “A plant for every dweller: Gaeta, the greenest city in the Mediterranean” is the title of the ambitious project launched by Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio and the Municipality of Gaeta, in collaboration with the Cy Twombly Foundation, Cethegus s.c.p.a. and Fondazione Gaetano e Simona Golinelli, which will be presented in Rome, on Tuesday December the 5th, at 11.30 am, at Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio, in via Francesco Crispi 18.
The goal is adding over twenty thousand new plants in urban setting, starting in 2026 and for a period of ten years, to improve the proportions between dwellers and green areas, while raising awareness among young people to respect nature and the environment. Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio will take care of choosing the most suitable plants to dwell amongst those of the Mediterranean climate species.
Environmental sustainability, urban regeneration, production of more oxygen, improvement of well-being and quality of life, but also a strong impact on the image of Gaeta and its territory: besides the presence of the promoting and financing Foundation, there will be also the support of a larger associative and institutional network, which will collaborate in the realization of this great ambition, starting from the peripheral neighborhoods, in order to make Gaeta the greenest city in the Mediterranean.
At the event, speakers will be Nicola Del Roscio, president of the foundation of the same name and of the Cy Twombly Foundation; Cristian Leccese, Mayor of Gaeta; Cosmo Mitrano, Councilor of the Lazio Region; Giovanni Acampora, president of the Frosinone Latina Chamber of Commerce; Massimo Giovanchelli, Commissario Straordinario Parco Riviera di Ulisse; Rosalba Giugni, president of Marevivo; Tiziana Frittelli, president of Federsanità; Giuseppe D'Aghino, organizer of the Triennale; Pierluigi Carofano, curator of the “Medusa” and “Metamorphosis” exhibitions; Leonardo Valle, president of Cethegus s.c.p.a.
