Description from the Publisher
In his introductory essay, Nicola Del Roscio describes the events, dispositions, and influences of the final years in Cy Twombly's life and work.
The 1990s start with an explosion of flamboyant botanical subjects, followed by a haunting Naumachia series created in connection with his acclaimed 2001 Lepanto cycle. The new millennium sees a return to his signature style of poetic, now colorful loops and swirls. In his final years, Twombly also finished a series of handmade books published for the first time in this volume.
