Description from the Publisher
Since the 1940s Cy Twombly has created sculptures from everyday materials and objects: boxes, cans, wooden stands, nails, willow rods, palm leaves. Usually painted with white gesso, they seem to cancel gravity and own an idiosyncratic, suspended beauty.
Volume II presents the works created between 1998 and the artist’s death in 2011.
The catalogue raisonné of sculpture edited by Nicola del Roscio is thus complete: the poetic, enchanting objects, - a total of 303 works – are now available in large-format, color illustration for the first time in their entirety and in a definitive catalogue of two volumes.
Cy Twombly Catalogue Raisonné of Sculpture Vol. II. Edited and with an introduction by Nicola Del Roscio. Published by Schirmer/Mosel, 2019. 352 pages, fully illustrated. English edition.
