Cy Twombly: The Natural World, Selected Works, 2000-2007 was published in conjunction with an exhibition of the same title organized by and presented at the Art Institute of Chicago from May 16 to September 12, 2009.
Nature with all its phenomena has always been an important source of inspiration to Cy Twombly. For the opening of its new wing designed by Renzo Piano, the Art Institute of Chicago presented a major Twombly show with paintings, drawings, photographs, and sculptures that deal with nature and the natural world.
